Frequently Asked Questions
Q:Are these miniatures size compatible with.......?
A: 28mm Pulp Figures are sculpted to be compatible with the most
popular historical miniatures ranges now on the market. They tend to be
a bit smaller than the large 30mm fantasy and Sci-fi sculpts currently
found in most gaming stores. They are larger than the old 25mm fantasy
and historical sculpts popular in the 1980s.
They are nicely compatible with Mark Copplestone's famous 'Darkest
Africa' series, slightly larger and more beefy but still compatible with
my own 'Call of Cthulhu' and 'Space 1889' work.
Figure height will deliberately vary at times. Heroes and personalities
will often be slightly larger than regular soldier and civilian figures.
Q: Why are all packs the same price when some contain 8 figures and others
only 4?
A: Packs are priced according to their manufacturing requirements. Our
optimal organization is 5 figs per pack. This is because we can fit
three sets of 5 figs in one mold. Unit Builder packs are 8 castings of
the same fig. This is easier to produce so we can afford to place 8 figs
in a pack. Some packs require extra bits, such as the camera in PHP1,
therefore there are only 4 figs and the camera in that pack.
Prices can also reflect sales potential of the pack. Customers will
usually never require more then one of any personality pack so sales of
that pack may be considerably less then some packs which will be used to
build armies. It's a supply and demand consideration from our
perspective. The goal being, not to go broke doing this.
Q: Can one purchase a specific casting?
A: Sorry, no. All figures will be sold exclusively in the group
packs presented on the web site. We have to keep things that way in
order to keep costs down. Each pack comes out of a specific mold and
special picking and chosing would be an organisational impossibility.
Q: Can I pre-order future releases of figures?
A: Sorry, I won't be accepting pre-orders right now. I want
everything in place before I start to take anyone's money. I'm an artist
so I might spend your cash on cheap hooch and floozies and then forget
to cast the figs.
Q: Are the prices in Canadian or US dollars?
A: All prices are in U.S. dollars. Canadian customers wishing to
pay in Canadian funds must use our special Canadian Snail-Mail order form
which has our Canadian prices with Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST)
factored in. Should Canadian customers make their purchase over the web,
their order will be converted to U.S. funds by our system. The only
bright side of that scenario is that Pulp Figures will have to absorb
the GST. All customers outside of Canada must make their payment in U.S.
funds, even by Snail-Mail order.
